What is a nation? What and who is our nation? Why has it changed and why does it need to change?† Our nation is called The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and we have been one of the most powerful nations on the earth, ruling over a quarter of it at different points in history. Indeed the sun never set on the British Empire. So why has it gone? Why is our nation declining so very fast? The nation has never been in such a poor state: some people work, some donít, some canít, some wonít.† We have people who live by the law, some who wonít. We have pressures of work and society, perverseness, violence, lying, stealing and deception. But why?

What is a nation?†† One definition of a nation is simply ďa group of peopleĒ. OK so we are a group of people, so what? We have all of the social problems and seemingly none of the answers. How many people seem to try and offer an answer? The politicians lie, the Police can only do what the law allows them, the Church of England seem to debate endlessly and often donít seem to believe the basic principles of Christianity. There are Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, Wickers and many other sects and beliefs running from Druids to the Freemasons. No wonder we fight, steal and lie. Our nation is confused, wounded and sick.

Whatís the cause? Ė Simply that there is no trust. Why? Because we do not find anyone worthy of giving our trust to a quarter of the globe? Ė We had three things going for us when we managed that;

††††† 1.We had a superb Navy that out-classed the skills of other nations.

2. We developed industry and made technical advances that were over and above any that any other nation could match, with men such as James Watt, Brunel, and Stephenson.

3. Our nation was the cradle of revival, of a move toward God that was enormous. Men like the Wesley brothers, George Muller, The Cambridge Seven, Hudson Taylor, General Booth, Smith Wigglesworth and Duncan Campbell read and trusted every word of the Bible.

Hang on a minute; the Bible is a collection of books that was written over two thousand years ago. Itís just something that is used at weddings and funerals, and it canít be true because Dan Brown says itís a load of lies in the Da vinci Code. Thatís the truth isnít it? Then why did these great men believe it, and not just part of it but every word? Were they stupid? Ė No!† The Wesley brothers were graduates of Oxford and John Wesley was an Oxford don, the Cambridge Seven were all graduates of Cambridge
